The news I Had Been Waiting For
I snuggled into bed wondering what will he look like, how will he act, what's his name? I had just been told that I could get my very own pony. We were going to pick him up in 1 week. Every day I counted down the days and hours until I could meet him and take him down to be my very own. I had been waiting for this moment for ages. It felt like forever. I wish I knew more about him. I was very curious because I had never had a pet that was mine. All I knew was that he was a boy and he was around my height. I wanted to know more. But I was going to have to wait till tomorrow. Which was like waiting till next year.
The Day
I woke up to the sun beaming through my window. Usually when I wake up Im feeling tired. But I had been waiting for this day for as long as I could remember. I was pumped. LOoking out the window in the car, wishing I was the one driving. But then again if I was driving, we would all be dead. We turned up the old windy road, deciding what house it was. Finally we turned into what we thought was the house. The house that I was going to collect my future best friend. We pulled up and parked. I leaped out of the car and ran to the paddock. I climbed the gate and ran to the pony. He tickled me with his warm breath and long whiskers. He licked my fingers and nuzzled me. He was perfect.
First Ride
His previous life was as acarting pony so I had a bit of work to do with him. He had only been ridden a few times with a saddle. Nerves grew, but so did excitement, as it was my first ever ride on him.
Hi Sophia,
ReplyDeleteHow exciting, I too can remember the first time meeting all of my new ponies and horses. Ponies are such special parts of our lives, you may not believe it but, being able to ride on the farm on your own is such a privileged pass time to be able to do. Treasure those memories.

Kia ora Sophia,
ReplyDeleteI can't wait until you finish your story. It sounds very exciting. Are you going to share some of your story with room 4? How long are you going to make your story ?

Kia Ora Sophia,
ReplyDeleteWOW, this is a really cool start to your novel! You've described your excitement very well. The title also hooked me in, The Forever Pony sounds like a professional book title. I can't wait to hear more, and learn some more about Gingernut who I know is so special to you. It made me laugh when you were writing about how you would be dead if you were driving.
Keep up the great work Sophia
