Do It Yourself Cat Hammock

It was rainy yesterday, very hard. So after a long hard search through Pinterest I saw a cat hammock. My chair in my room didn't have 2 stretchers so it was a little difficult. But I patched it up with string.

What you need
An old shirt
Scissors
A chair ideally with 2 stretchers
A cat

Starting at the bottom of the shirt, cut up 10 - 15 cm on each side. Cut the shoulders in half for tying. Tie on the chair legs on all 4 corners. Done, place your cat in the hammock. My cats love this. Since my instructions are not very clear. Here is a video to support them.

  1. Good Morning Sophia
What a great rainy day project! It certainly looks very cosy. It was a good idea to include the link to the video so you can get a helpful visual of the procedure.
Did your cat climb into the hammock on its own, like it shows in the video or did you have to entice him/her yourself? What is your cat's name?
Read over your post to edit a few little errors.
    Well done...lucky cat!

  2. Hi Mrs Bennett
Yes my cat Mittens jumped in himself and loves sleeping in there all day.

  3. Morning Soph's,
Awww, this is such a cool little project to do!
I really wish that I was allowed a cat. Mittens looks very happy just chilling in his hammock. If Gus was allowed inside I'm sure he'd LOVE to have his own hammock, although it may not hold him because these days he is a bit rotund!
    Keep up the great work,
Say hi to Poppy, Mittens, Timmy and all your animals from me

  4. Hi Sophia,
What a fantastic idea! Mittens obviously thinks so too! Who are Poppy and Timmy? I can identify with the 'long, hard search through...'. I have been searching for good stories for Room 3 to listen to. It takes ages to find ones that appeal, where the reader doesn't talk too much before and while reading, turns the pages without fiddling around, and shows the words to the audience! Perhaps you would like to have a try at reading a favourite story? Well done on being so resourceful Sophia.
